MULTIPLE DAYS OF ADVENTURES YOU MAY NEVER WANT TO LEAVE
To get the full experience of the region, we recommend staying for a few days. Make The Blake your basecamp for adventure and outings.
DAY 1
8:00AM SUMMIT WHEELER PEAK
Conquer New Mexico's highest peak. This 13,161-foot summit can be accessed by either Bull of the Woods Trail or Williams Lake Trail. Get an early start for this expert level hike and make sure to stay well hydrated. Backcountry camping is allowed without a permit. Keep your eyes peeled for Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep, elk and mule deer. You cannot beat the view at the top
3:00PM APRES FUN AT THE BAVARIAN
After Wheeler Peak, you've earned this meal. A post hike beverage and some authentic Bavarian food are just what you need after your day out on the trails.
6:00PM EVENING OJO CALIENTE VISIT
Relax with a healing soak in the legendary waters of the Ojo Caliente hot springs, deemed sacred by local Native Americans.
DAY 2
9:00AM START YOUR MORNING ON THE WATER OR HIGH IN THE SKY
Breakfast is definitely the most important meal of the day because whether you want to start your day off rafting the Rio Grande or you want to see this region from a new height while rock climbing, you’re going to want to be well-fueled. No matter what you choose, you and your family are in for a morning of thrills and experiences that will last you a lifetime.
FLY FISHING
Between our legendary rivers and our hidden alpine lakes, Taos offers a variety of fishing experiences. You’ll find solitude and peace with nature in our waters, and not to mention a relief from the summer heat. This area is known for being abundant with a variety of trout, including Rainbow, Brown, and Brooks trout. You might even hook onto a Rio Grande Cutthroat trout, which are native to northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado.
MOUNTAIN BIKING
Cover miles of scenic trails from two wheels! Taos boasts both great single track and road biking for all skill levels, so whether you decide to summit peaks in our Alpine wilderness, glide through meadows of wildflowers, peddle along the mesas or skirt through canyons on rural back roads, your bike ride will be unforgettable.
DINNER AT 192
Before and after outdoor adventure, this is your space to connect while savoring shareable dishes and inspired wines. Centered around a communal kiva fireplace, this inviting, intimate dining and social hub radiates international flare—rustic European alpine architecture folded into colorful New Mexican design.
DAY 3
CHOICE OF AM RAFT TRIP, ½ DAY GUIDED CLIMBING OR ½ DAY FLY FISHING
The choice is yours and you can't go wrong. Whether you are taking a guided rafting trip on the Rio Grande or fishing on one of this regions many well-stocked rivers, a morning out on the water is always a great option. Or for a different kind of excitement, you can check out Taos from above with a guided rock climbing tour.
LUNCH IN TOWN
After your exciting morning, you’ve earned a good meal and the options are abundant in downtown Taos. Foodies have been traveling to Taos for decades in order to enjoy the diverse options that this region provides. After lunch make sure you take some time to explore the historic Taos Plaza where shops and art galleries are abundant and you will almost definitely find a keepsake to go home with.
