DAY 1

WARM UP WITH A MORNING BIKE RIDE

Cover miles of scenic trails from two wheels! Taos boasts both great single track and road biking for all skill levels, so whether you decide to summit peaks in our Alpine wilderness, glide through meadows of wildflowers, peddle along the mesas or skirt through canyons on rural back roads, your bike ride will be unforgettable.

GRAB LUNCH AT THE BAVARIAN

There is no better way to close out your morning at Taos Ski Valley than with a refreshing lunch at The Bavarian. Make sure to start your meal with a pretzel…always a Bavarian favorite!

TAKE AN AFTERNOON HIKE TO WILLIAMS LAKE

Discover Williams Lake in all its summertime glory. This intermediate-level, four-mile round trip hike from The Bavarian is forested with aspen, Englemann and blue spruce, western white fir, and rarely seen red fir and bristlecone pine. Once there you’ll find lush meadows are colored with countless varieties of wildflowers and plants.

RETURN TO THE BLAKE AND TAKE THE COMPLIMENTARY HOTEL SHUTTLE FOR DINNER IN TOWN

Foodies have been traveling to Taos for decades in order to enjoy the diverse options that this region provides. After dinner, make sure you take some time to explore the historic Taos Plaza where shops and art galleries are abundant and you will almost definitely find a keepsake to go home with.

DAY 2

HEAD OUT FOR A MORNING GUIDED CLIMBING SESSION

Get ready to get your hands dirty and get up close and personal with Taos’s unique geography. Whether you choose to climb over ancient basalt in the Rio Grande Gorge or get higher up in the Rocky Mountains, you’ll get a feel for the diverse topography of northern New Mexico. With over 300 days of annual sunshine, you can rock climb all year long and get panoramic views of the Southwest.

GRAB LUNCH IN DOWNTOWN TAOS & EXPLORE THE HISTORIC PLAZA

After your exciting morning, you’ve earned a good meal and the options are abundant in downtown Taos. Foodies have been traveling to Taos for decades in order to enjoy the diverse options that this region provides. After lunch make sure you take some time to explore the historic Taos Plaza where shops and art galleries are abundant and you will almost definitely find a keepsake to go home with.

HORSE BACK RIDING

Nothing says Southwest quite like spurs and a saddle. You can explore northern New Mexico the way the natives used to - on horseback! Guided horseback riding tours will bring you high in the mountains or down in the Pueblo land where the natives still reside. Llama trekking is another furry-friend option. Explore trails while lovable llamas carry your gear and make your trip even more unique.

DAY 3

SNEAK IN A MORNING HOT AIR BALLOON RIDE (THE BEST VIEWS IN TOWN)

Floating isn’t just for water, Taos is a great place for floating in the air. Hot air balloon rides above the Rio Grande Gorge are magical, thrilling experiences that will take your breath away. As the sun rises over the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, you’ll have the best views of the Taos Mesa and see amazing geologic formations from 800 feet above the Rio Grande. With some luck, you might see some wildlife, too.

HIKE DOWN INTO THE RIO GRANDE GORGE

Looking for a geothermal adventure? The Rio Grande Gorge is full of surprises, including hidden hot springs that are perfect for soaking. Hiking is required, and you’ll feel immersed in nature in the remote parts of the canyon that lead to the springs. Free your hippy soul because clothing is optional!
