Qu'est-ce Que C'est
21 October 2020
We at Taos Ski Valley are mourning the loss of Jean Mayer, a founding visionary of this community, a passionate skier, and a uniquely wonderful human being. As we grieve his passing, we remember the joie de vivre he brought to this community, and the leadership he brought to the Ernie Blake Snowsports School where he served as technical director for decades. Jean shared his knowledge and love for skiing with thousands of people. His lodge, the Hotel St. Bernard, is a world-renowned destination for generations of loyal Taos visitors, and all who were fortunate enough to visit it were transformed by Jean’s hospitality and grace. Jean was the essence of Taos Ski Valley, his spirit is inextricably bound to the character of Taos Ski Valley. He will be deeply missed.
